From "the Lebrons" series of All Star Vinyl's i worked on at Upper Deck, Mark Irwin Art Directed. this was the 5th or 6th design out of the eventual 30 something i did, still working out how to color at this point so not entirely happy, wish it popped a bit more. the Nike ad campaign this was part of had Lebron James acting in skits with 4 different versions of himself (like the barber shop scenes Eddie Murphy did in "Coming to America"), this version was him as All Business Lebron. The original sculpt got sent off, along with this illo, for a test painting, and came back with clownish bright purple and yellow suit. For a awhile afterwards around the office this version was referred to, seriously, as "Pimp Lebron". Which, uh....I didn't have a sense of humor about. There were some uncomfortable exchanges before it got fixed.
*Crying pure tears of amazment*Its...BEAUTIFUL!!!
This is awesome, what are your prices for a commission? Please send me a note if you can do commissions!
Oh YES! Now this is awesome!
Mannnn, this is so insanely slick! You and Rico are like peanut butter and jelly, great on your own, but you compliment each other to epic proportions!
funny you say that, i hadda do this on my own, and the ghost of Rico was still in my ear- this being the slick bad imitation of his flavor.
Wow, I didn't read carefully enough, this is outstanding on the colors Chris! Everything from the rendering on the hands down to where the pants fold up by the ankles is subtle and brilliant!
maybe the suit could be a bit desaturated, i think that might help when it goes to print....
definitely could have yeah, went to print a good while ago tho, so........colored three different versions (standard for any of the AllStarVinyl figs), a tan suit and plain black along with this one here- pleeeease don't make me go back! thanks for the feedback sir, much appreciated.
diggin the steez.
much appreciated sir- it was a stretch to learn how to be this polished, not my natural gear. still a ways to go.
Hell yeah, I remember this illo. I love the swagger and attitude.
