X-Men

a toy we were trying to make at Upper Deck, from Mark Irwins very cool idea: buying a section of the Danger Room w/ character, one at a time, and then assemble those bad boys into a full playset like Voltron. this was such nerdy fun to work on.... except the part where Mark wanted to base on John Byrne. I wanted to go with Art Adams, or make it up myself (but they were supposed to be based on specific comics). let's chalk it up to generational taste. my experience with John Byrne is saving up allowance ($2 a week, going cold turkey on a 2 comics per week habit) for a Dark Phoenix saga TPB with a sweet Sienkiewicz cover. it was sealed in plastic tho? so i bought thinking insides matched the cover.....harsh way to learn that lesson. damn you John Byrne.
